Spring & autumn: mild, ideal for tea culture

Overview

Huzhou, on Lake Taihu’s south bank, is known for silk, writing brushes, and long tea culture.

Brief Guide

Huzhou is located in northern Zhejiang Province, on the south bank of Lake Taihu, opposite Wuxi in Jiangsu and near Lake Ge in Suzhou. This area has been a peaceful land since ancient times. It is known for its famous silk and Huzhou writing brushes, and has a long history of tea culture. The modern downtown area is not very large; Hongqi Road and Jiangnan Industry and Trade Street are the busiest areas. The landscape along the north side of the city near Lake Nantai is majestic and suitable for family self-driving tours. The scenery around Huzhou is even more enchanting: the Jiangnan mansions in Nanxun Ancient Town, the artistic guesthouses at Mogan Mountain, the vast bamboo sea in Anji, and the ten-mile stretch of ginkgo trees at Changxing, which is especially splendid in autumn, are enough to make visitors forget to return home.
